The practice of drinking from a copper vessel have been used in Ayurveda for thousands of years and is a simple, practical and effective method of drinking water in its most holistic way. The Sankrist name is tamra jal.
Ayurvedic practice says that drinking from a copper vessel helps to boost immunity, aids digestive tract, reduces inflammation, and balances all three doshas (Vata, Kapha, and Pitta) in the body.
According to the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Copper is the only class of metal that continuous kill bacteria, yeasts and viruses on contact.
How to Use
First rinse thoroughly using a natural acidic solution such as lemon and water.
To make copper water, pour water in the copper vessel and leave it overnight.
Water should be kept in the vessel for at least 8 hours or more, overnight is optimum. That will help to kill undesirable bacteria and viruses in an oligodynamic process. The finished product will be charged with the health qualities of copper.
Best to drink it as soon as you get up in the morning. You can also drink your copper water during the day.
Best way to drink your water is room temperature.
Do not store copper bottle in the fridge.
Do not exceed more than four 8 ounce glasses of Copper water a day.
Rinse thoroughly using a natural acidic solution such as lemon and water.
Copper darkens naturally over a period of time and needs to be cleaned periodically.
Use lemon juice with salt or tamarind to rub your bottle. Leave it for a few minutes then wash and rinse well with water.
